Do I really need a professional videographer for my wedding?
“Among brides who used a friend or family member to videotape their wedding instead of using a professional, nearly half (49%) said they would hire a professional if they had it all to do over again.” Read more... Also, you can read the article “Why Video” for more information.
Although friends and family may have good intentions, they can not compete with a professional with the right equipment and experience.
When it's something as important as your wedding you don't want to leave anything to chance. Let your family and friends have fun with you while we record your special day. Weddings are often a blur for the bride and groom. You may not remember much of anything at all until you sit down to watch your wedding video. You don't want to watch a video with out-of-focus shots and erratic shaky shots. And you really wanted to see the groom dancing with grandma but you don't see it on the tape (they were trying to have a good time also). It is our job to get those special moments.
Here are a few reasons why couples decide to get a Professional Wedding Video...
- To send copies to relatives who were unable to attend.
- To share these special memories with their children.
- They want to capture all the sights and sounds of the most important day of their lives.
- Everything is such a blur, they want to look back and remember why they put so much hard work and effort into planning their wedding.
What should I look for in a videographer?
Look at the finished product. Do not base your decision on a slick short 5 to 7 minute version. Ask to see more than one demo, and check their references. Premiere Productions insists on it and we post lists of our clients and client comments on our testimonials page. You can see and hear what previous clients have to say about our services.

What are the most important questions to ask the videographer?
- Are you available for the event date?
- How long have you been doing Wedding Videography?
- What is the general style of your work?
- Can I see samples of your work?
Should price be the deciding factor when choosing my videographer?
Price is a very important consideration but it should not be the most important one. A good price is no longer good when you have the finished product in your hand and are unsatisfied with the results. Quality should be your first priority. You will not regret the modest investment.
Will my videographer be obtrusive and interfere with my wedding plans.
Not at all. Premiere Productions arrives at the ceremony an hour before the event to review and determine the proper placement of our cameras. Our professional equipment is designed to work efficiently in low light situations and we do not use any additional lights for the ceremony. Our skilled camera operators are dressed in professional attire and blend in with the background. During the reception we use additional lights sparingly and this allows us to capture people acting natural.
Will you travel?
Yes we will. There is no limit to where we can travel. However, we do charge an additional fee to travel outside of the Northeast Florida area. For more details about traveling please contact us.
Can photographs be added to my video?
Yes! We have a very unique and sophisticated system that places photographs on to video. There are several different ways for us to place your photographs in your video.
How long does it take to get my finished video?
The work isn't over when the event ends, we still have to edit all the footage. Editing can take hours or days, it depends on how much coverage you have. Premiere Productions works hard to have the finished product in your hand in approximately six to eight weeks.
Will a videographer attend my wedding rehearsal?
Yes, at least one videographer will be available to attend your rehearsal.
How many cameras will be used for my wedding?
Premiere Productions will generally use two cameras for your wedding.
How do I best preserve my wedding video?
For Video Tapes: After use always rewind your video tape return it to its protective case. Store your tape in an upright position, never flat. Fast forward and rewind your video tape at least once a year whether you view it or not. Be sure to purchase several copies of your video just in case yours gets damaged.
For DVD: After each use, return the DVD to its protective case. Remember to clean your DVD player at regular intervals to keep it free from dirt and dust that can scratch your DVD. Be sure to purchase several copies of your video just in case yours gets damaged.
How can I better assist my videographer in providing an excellent product for me?
The videographer must be provided with the details of the event in advance so that they will know who is important and other pertinent information that will help meet and exceed your expectations. They don't have a crystal ball! Furnish an itinerary. Provide the details well in advance and discuss special situations so that they are aware of what to avoid or to keep their eye on.
